The History of Effective Natural Products

Effective Natural Products was founded by Larry Leach and Mark Bryant. In 1996, Larry started an online health food store which he sold a few years later. In 1997, Larry joined Liquid Health, during which time he was instrumental in helping them transform from a four-product company to a name recognized throughout the industry. In mid-2003, Larry decided it was time to move on and purchased a contract manufacturing company near his home in Southern California. Mark Bryant, who had worked at Liquid Health, joined Larry’s new company in early 2004 to head up the marketing efforts. Previously, Mark had also worked for Healthy Drops where he oversaw sales and marketing.

In late 2003, Larry became aware of Regenasure®, the first and only vegetarian form of Glucosamine. Previously, Glucosamine had only been derived from shellfish. Larry and Mark recognized the opportunity that vegetarian Glucosamine offered and in March of 2004, they launched Effective Natural Products (ENP). The new company drew on the resources of its contract manufacturing parent for expert advice on flavorings, as well as bulk pricing. Vegetable Glucosamine received a warm welcome from stores and ENP grew rapidly across the country.

Building ENP from the ground up gave Larry and Mark the unique opportunity to draw on their experience in the industry to create the ideal company. Years of working with stores and consumers shaped ENP’s focus on excellent formulas at fair prices with unmatched service. ENP recognizes that each store is different. They understand the need to advertise to support stores. ENP is also widely known for its new product discounts, swapping products that don’t sell, and same-day shipping. ENP is designed to fill the needs of stores and consumers with respect and efficiency.

From its beginning, ENP has been at the leading edge of the industry. They were the first to market with a liquid Regenasure® formula for Health Food stores by more than six months. They were the first to offer a Regenasure® product for dogs by more than eight months. As of April 2007, ENP is the only Regenasure® product for Horses. In spite of other competing formulas that have since appeared, ENP’s Regenasure® formulas continue to be the best value and formulas on the market today. ENP has been featured in a number of press releases in industry publications. ENP is also a member of the Natural Products Association and its TruLabel program.

So what does the future hold for ENP? Since its inception with one product, ENP has grown to over 30 products and has become a leading name in supplements in thousands of stores nationwide. ENP’s line has grown to include not only liquids but soft gels and capsule products as well. In fact, ENP has the largest line of liquid Pet Supplements in the industry, with more on the way!

ENP has attained its Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certification. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are a set of stringent quality control guidelines that ENP has voluntarily adopted to ensure the integrity of our products. We chose NSF to audit our facility and procedures to certify that our GMP were complete and effective. GMP certification is a very rigorous process. Our certification process took nearly 18 months.
